Background
Once, I accidentally came across a beautiful indigo bag.
One piece was simple but beautiful, so I bought it for my mother as a gift. The joy I got from this bag sparked the idea that why not create these beautiful pieces with my own designs? These pieces convey our culture and bring joy to people's lives.
This trip took me back to my hometown of Sakon Nakhon, which is famous for its indigo weaving tradition. There, I discovered a world of eco-friendly Thai fabrics, expertly crafted by local artisans. They use natural dyes from indigo bark, wood and leaves to weave yarn from cotton plants, a painstaking process that results in unique fabrics.
As I delved deeper into this journey, I realized that understanding this tradition meant learning from the ground up. I visited local centers and got to know the dedicated artisans who create these wonderful fabrics. This journey gave me a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind each piece.
Today, I am dedicated to creating clothing and leather goods with Nanthicha Couture. I am also the Thai Silk Ambassador in Spain, where I am committed to sharing Thailand's rich cultural heritage with the world. We create bespoke pieces using exquisite Thai fabrics for Thais abroad and those who appreciate the sustainability and uniqueness of Thai handwoven fabrics. Supporting us means enhancing your wardrobe and giving back to indigenous artisans and my beloved country.
